Your Guide to Lifelong Performance

About Me

Hey, I’m Matt

Owner, Physical Therapist, Orthopedic Clinical Specialist

I founded Unlock Performance and Rehab to break away from the “quick fix” model of rehab and create a space where people feel truly supported in reaching their long-term goals. To me, physical therapy isn’t just about getting out of pain—it’s about building resilience and helping people return to the activities that give them joy, whether that’s chasing grandkids, hitting new athletic PRs, or simply moving through life with confidence. My approach is rooted in spending more time with clients, understanding their story, and creating individualized, holistic plans that go beyond the surface.

Over the past six years, I’ve worked extensively with both in-clinic and virtual patients, performing more than 500 virtual evaluations for active individuals across the country. Professionally, I’m a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and completed an orthopedic residency at Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas in 2020. During residency, I gained invaluable experience treating a wide range of patients—from those recovering from spine surgery who wanted to stay active, to endurance athletes training at the Ironman Sports Medicine Institute. These experiences solidified my passion for helping motivated people return to the “sport of life” while avoiding unnecessary surgery.

I stay committed to advancing the profession through continuous education and staying up to date on the latest research, ensuring that every client benefits from evidence-based care tailored to their unique needs.

Before becoming a physical therapist, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Southeast Missouri State University and my Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Missouri State University.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me outdoors—hiking, camping, or playing pickleball—or working out to keep up with my own performance goals. I love spending time with my fiancée, Maggie, and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and beyond together.

My Philosophy - You Are Not Broken

My career is built on a simple but powerful idea: you are the expert on your own body. My role is not to be a 'fixer,' but a guide. Using a biopsychosocial approach, I listen to your story to understand the whole picture—not just your symptoms. Pain is complex, but the path forward can be clear. I'm here to provide that clarity, give you the tools, and empower you to become the hero of your own recovery story.

Fitness-Forward Physical Therapy

As a physical therapist with a deep background in strength and conditioning, I saw a gap in traditional care. Patients were often discharged once their pain was gone, but before they were truly ready for the demands of their life and sport. At Unlock Rehab, we bridge that gap. We treat everyone like an athlete, building robust strength and resilience that not only resolves your current issue but helps prevent the next one. This is rehab that prepares you for life.

A Wenatchee Valley Local (By Choice)

While I may be new to the area, I moved to the valley for the same reasons you love it—the incredible access to the outdoors, the tight-knit community, and the active lifestyle. My commitment is to serve this community by providing a level of care and accessibility that helps more people enjoy our amazing surroundings. My vision is to grow Unlock Rehab to sponsor local events and find ways to make premium care accessible to more people here in the valley.
